“World Trade Center Utah is proud to recognize Storm Products, Inc. and Paul Campbell who are succeeding both locally and internationally,” said WTC Utah president and CEO Derek B. “We recognize the value of exports for our Utah businesses, and the role World Trade Center Utah provides facilitating that growth,” said Jon Pierpont, executive director of the Utah Department of Workforce Services. “Tapping international markets offers new potential for local job creation, but also underscores the need for a skilled Utah workforce ready to compete on the global stage.”

Storm Products Inc., formerly known as High Score Products, was established in 1991 and is known as an innovative leader in the bowling industry, focusing on performance, growth and education. Storm Products provides high-quality bowling balls and accessories domestically and internationally. With more than 20 percent of company sales in international markets, Storm Bowling is currently selling products in more than 20 countries across the globe. While Storm Bowling is an international company, it also supports the local economy by manufacturing more than 80 percent of its product in Utah.

“Storm Products is a force for good in our community,” said Monica Holdaway, executive director of the Brigham Area Chamber of Commerce. “They are not only a major employer in our area, but are actively involved in community events and issues. This is a direct result of their successful expansion over the years, both locally and internationally.”

Paul D. Campbell of Campbell Scientific is being honored with the WTC Utah Northern Utah Champion in International Business Award for his efforts in growing Campbell Scientific, Inc. as a competitive international brand. As president, Paul and his team have penetrated new international markets establishing 11 overseas offices, expanding their reach to more than 200 countries. From its modest start with a single anemometer in 1974 in Logan, Utah, Campbell Scientific has evolved to become a global company that is internationally recognized in the measurement and control industry for producing accurate and dependable instruments.

Sandra Emile, president and CEO of the Cache Chamber of Commerce, said, “With a significant global presence, Campbell Scientific is truly an international economic Ambassador for Cache County. They epitomize the work ethic found in Utah and consistently showcase the innovative spirit in our state. While they have prospered globally, they haven’t lost sight of their roots and have been active in the community by supporting the growth and success of other local companies. We are proud of this company’s contributions and for Paul Campbell’s leadership in its international growth.”

The Vanguard in International Business Award and Northern Utah Champion in International Business Award will be presented during WTC Utah’s Northern Utah International Business Forum, where local companies and community leaders will learn about the impact international expansion of businesses has on the local economy. Attendees will also learn about tools and resources available to assist them as they expand throughout the world. With decreased regulations and increased connectivity, small and medium sized companies throughout Utah are well positioned to enter or increase their share of the global market. In an ever-globalized world, all businesses have the potential to export.
