WTC Utah to recognize AZOMITE Mineral Products, Inc.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah), in partnership with the Department of Workforce Services, will honor Utah-based company, AZOMITE Mineral Products, Inc. with the WTC Utah Vanguard in International Business Award. The award presentation will take place at the Central Utah International Business Forum, which will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Richfield, Utah.

“World Trade Center Utah is proud to recognize AZOMITE Mineral Products, Inc. who is succeeding not only locally, but internationally as well,” said WTC Utah president and CEO Derek B. Miller. “Companies like AZOMITE have a considerable impact on the local economy and demonstrate that businesses in rural Utah have a place in the international market.”

“We recognize the value of exports for our Utah businesses and the role World Trade Center Utah provides facilitating that growth,” said Jon Pierpont, executive director of the Utah Department of Workforce Services. “Tapping international markets offers new potential for local job creation, but also underscores the need for a skilled Utah workforce ready to compete on the global stage.”

Since December 2008, Nephi based AZOMITE Mineral Products, Inc., has been successfully doing business domestically and internationally. AZOMITE®, a 100 percent natural product, is uniquely named for the “A to Z of Minerals,” including Trace Elements, it contains. AZOMITE®, has become a mainstay in agriculture around the world, particularly as a feed ingredient and a re-mineralizing soil additive.

AZOMITE’s operations are headquartered in Nephi, Utah as a result of the large natural deposits of AZOMITE® located in the area. AZOMITE has grown its international markets since opening and experienced the dividends of going global. With more than 41 percent of company revenue coming from sales outside of the United States, AZOMITE is truly a Vanguard in International Business in Central Utah.

“We are excited that the wonderful benefits of AZOMITE® are being recognized in agriculture worldwide,” said Jim Phillips, president of AZOMITE Mineral Products. “The success of our company is a direct result of a lot of hard work by our employees, international distributors and the realization of dreams that began in the 1940’s and continue today.”

The Vanguard in International Business Award will be presented during WTC Utah’s Central Utah International Business Forum, where local companies and community leaders will learn about the impact international expansion of businesses has on the local economy. Attendees will also learn about tools and resources available to assist them as they expand throughout the world. With decreased regulations and increased connectivity, small and medium sized companies throughout Utah are well positioned to enter or increase their share of the global market. In an ever-globalized world, all businesses have the potential to export.
