Join the U.S. Commercial Service in Canada for an essential webinar on Canada’s new CARM program.

As of October 21, 2024, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will officially launch its Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) system. This platform is designed to modernize and streamline the import process by providing importers with a centralized portal for managing duties, taxes, and trade data. CARM will also allow importers to make payments, track shipments, and access tools to simplify their compliance with Canadian trade regulations.

For Utah companies exporting to Canada, it’s crucial to understand your obligations under this new system. Registration to the CARM Client Portal (CCP) is mandatory, and compliance will help avoid delays, penalties, or return of goods. Setting up early on the portal and delegating the necessary authorities can mitigate the risk of disruptions, such as delayed shipments or financial penalties.
