At our fall Global State of Mind event, former Governor Gary Herbert and retired Rear Admiral Huan Nguyen shared unique perspectives on U.S.-Asia relations with our Global Advisory Board. Governor Herbert, who led Utah’s first trade mission to Vietnam and numerous others in the region during his tenure, highlighted the lasting impact of building trade connections through WTC Utah. Admiral Nguyen spoke about his roots in Vietnam, his journey to the U.S., and his career of service — becoming the first Vietnamese American to achieve the rank of rear admiral.
Held just after Veterans Day, the event underscored the importance of service and commitment to strengthening international partnerships. Governor Herbert, a six-year National Guard veteran, and Admiral Nguyen both emphasized how trade fosters mutual growth and stability between nations.
Thank you to Zions Bank for hosting this important conversation on the future of global trade and partnerships.
