Gov. Leavitt to Dissect Presidential Primaries on March 29 at Thought Leader Symposium

World Trade Center Utah and Zions Bank host second Thought Leader Symposium of 2016

Salt Lake City – On the heels of the Utah caucus, Gov. Mike Leavitt will talk to more than 200 business leaders about what the possible outcomes of the presidential primaries could mean for the nation. This discussion will take place March 29 at World Trade Center Utah’s (WTC Utah’s) second Thought Leader Symposium of 2016, which is being cohosted by Zions Bank.

“The outcome of this presidential election will affect companies doing business internationally in many ways. The new commander in chief will either progress trade agreements or stall them. The incumbent will build diplomatic relationships or will harm them,” said Derek B. Miller, WTC Utah president and CEO. “We are thrilled to have Governor Leavitt, an expert and often quoted figure in the political realm, dissect the election and what it could mean for Utah businesses at the Thought Leader Symposium.”

Gov. Leavitt is well qualified to address this topic, having served on the cabinet of President George W. Bush as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and as secretary of Health and Human Services. He is also a three-time elected Governor of Utah and the founder and chairman of Leavitt Partners. As part of his remarks, Gov. Leavitt will also talk about the dynamics of a possible contested GOP convention.

The purpose of Thought Leader Symposia is to provide an opportunity for Utah’s business leaders to hear from experts on topics that impact their companies.

The Thought Leader Symposium will take place March 29 at The Grand America Hotel. Other speakers at the luncheon include Governor Gary R Herbert and Derek B. Miller, WTC Utah president and CEO.
