Derrick Porter shares entrepreneurial insights after Beauty Industry Group wins International Business of the Year

Derrick Porter, CEO of Beauty Industry Group and member of WTC Utah’s Board of Directors, joins Pete Codella from the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity on the Business Elevated Podcast to share his inspiring story of entrepreneurship.

Salt Lake City-based Beauty Industry Group (BIG) was selected by Governor Cox as the One Utah International Business of the Year in May. As prominent leaders in the hair extension business, BIG sells its products in 165 countries to more than 100,000 stylists and salons worldwide.

In the interview, Porter discusses his nontraditional approach to education, his experiences with spearheading a fast-growing company, and how WTC Utah helped BIG step onto the international stage and expand their global sales.
