Derek B. Miller Remembers Former Israeli President Shimon Peres

SALT LAKE CITY – World Trade Center Utah President and CEO Derek B. Miller met Shimon Peres during a trade mission to Israel in April 2013. He released the following statement reflecting on that meeting and the life of the Israeli statesman:

“The world lost a great leader today. President Peres is one of Israel’s founding fathers and served in every major ministerial cabinet position, including prime minister twice,” said Derek B. Miller, president and CEO of World Trade Center Utah. “During a trade mission to Israel three years ago I had the privilege of meeting him. I was inspired by his comment that economic prosperity is the key to lasting peace, not just in Israel and the Middle East, but worldwide. Shimon Peres spent most of his life in areas of extreme conflict, but never lost his vision of what we should all be striving for.”
