The STEP Grant is funded in part through a grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) Grant seeks to help Utah businesses enter and expand into dynamic global markets. This initiative aims to increase the number of small businesses exporting in Utah, increase revenues and sales of Utah-made goods and services, and increase Utah’s GDP through international trade.

As a believer that the best communities are those that take pride in themselves, Julia feels fortunate to combine her passion for promoting local business with her love for marketing and outreach in her role at WTC Utah.
Last April, Julia led a successful state delegation to the Bio Korea trade show. The eight life science companies representing the state at the show participated in a total of 117 meetings and created nearly $1 million in new trade opportunities – a successful gain for the state! As head of the Life Science Working Group for WTC Utah, Julia will lead some of the state’s top up-and-coming companies at MEDICA and help present Utah’s innovative life science industry to the world!
