Central Utah business and community leaders gathered in Richfield today to talk about exporting
RICHFIELD, Utah – Business and community leaders gathered in Richfield for World Trade Center Utah’s (WTC Utah’s) Central Utah International Business Forum to learn about exporting and how international business can be a bigger part of their communities.
Derek B. Miller, WTC Utah president and CEO, was the keynote speaker. He focused his remarks on where Utah has been economically and where it has the potential to go as businesses grow globally.
“Only 1 percent of companies in the U.S. who can export do,” said Derek B. Miller, World Trade Center Utah president and CEO. “Though Utah is doing better than the national average with 5 percent of companies exporting, there is plenty of room for that number to grow. The opportunities are abundant abroad, and we want to help companies take their products to new borders.”
Partnering with the Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS), WTC Utah hosted the forum in Richfield, Utah as a way to continue its rural outreach efforts to all parts of the state. Today’s forum was the third forum of 2015, with past forums held in Logan and St. George.
The Vanguard in International Business Award was presented to AZOMITE Mineral Products, Inc., a Utah-based company succeeding in international business and positively impacting Utah’s economy.
