Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Saturday, April 7
Depart Salt Lake City for Mexico City, Mexico. After checking into the hotel, enjoy time on your own getting to know this breathtaking city. Visit the city’s center, Zocalo, the heart of Mexico’s living culture that dates back to 14th century. Visit neighborhoods flooded with art nouveau and art deco, enjoy its cuisine and lose yourself in the streets of the city with the some of the most famous museums in the world.


Day 2: Sunday, April 8
Should you choose, join World Trade Center Utah for a cultural add-on experience that celebrates Mexico’s unique heritage and history. Learn about Tenochtitlan, the former capital city and religious center of the Aztec civilization, that is now modern-day Mexico City. Venture to Teotihuacan, an ancient Mesoamerican city, home of some of the most architecturally significant Mesoamerican pyramids built in the pre-Columbian Americas.


Day 3: Monday, April 9
The day will begin with a market briefing and welcome remarks by Governor Herbert, followed by a company site visit or one-on-one business appointments. We will then enjoy a networking luncheon before additional site visits and business roundtable discussions. End the evening at our Governor’s Networking Reception at the U.S. Embassy, where you will have the opportunity to network with key Mexico City business, community and government leaders.


Day 4: Tuesday, April 10
Continue meeting potential representation, direct sales or joint ventures partners in Mexico City in the morning. At noon, join us for a foreign direct investment luncheon that will highlight opportunities for Mexico companies and capital groups to invest in Utah and Utah businesses. In the afternoon, join us at additional company site visits or meetings designed to better help you understand business culture in Mexico.


Day 5: Wednesday, April 11
Fly from Mexico City to Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Participants are responsible for their own flight between cities. During your free time, explore Tijuana’s bustling main street, Avenida Revolución, which is full of unique shops and souvenirs or visit landmarks such as the neoclassical Jai Alai Frontón palace or the Centro Cultural Tijuana cultural complex.


Day 6: Thursday, April 12
The day will begin with a market briefing discussing the unique business climate of Baja California. Participants will then go on a company site visit followed by a networking luncheon. In the afternoon, attend one-on-one business meetings and meet with potential partners in the region. End the evening at a networking reception with key business, government and community leaders of Baja, California.


Day 7: Friday, April 13
Continue meeting potential representation, direct sales or joint ventures partners and then join us for a foreign direct investment luncheon. The afternoon will also provide plenty of opportunities for companies to conduct site visits, one-on-one business meetings and other appointments.


Day 8: Saturday, April 14

Depart for the airport to return home to Salt Lake City after a successful trade mission. Companies will walk away from the experience with potential new partners, memorandums of understanding and other agreements to help enter or expand their products and services into Mexican markets.
