The April 2018 trade mission to Mexico will give Utah companies the chance to explore business opportunities and establish meaningful business contacts and partnerships in Mexico.
Mexico is a key trade and investment partner for Utah. Over the past decade, exports from Utah to Mexico have grown 231 percent.
Today, Mexico is the state’s fourth-largest international export partner and second largest international import partner, with Utah companies exporting approximately $850 million in goods to the country each year.
Mexico’s large, diversified market provides an opportunity for most products made in Utah to be sold successfully. Some of the top growing sectors in Mexico include: agriculture; agribusiness; auto parts and services; aerospace; education services; energy; environmental technology; franchising; housing and construction; packaging equipment; plastics and resins; security and safety equipment and services; information technology; transportation infrastructure equipment and services; and travel and tourism services.
Money obtained through a STEP Grant may be used for business-to-business matchmaking opportunities through U.S. Commercial Service, the trade mission participation fee and other eligible expenses. Companies may also apply for up to $9,000 for other international business activities.
