Trade missions are proven, cost-effective tools for Utah companies to learn first-hand about target export markets. Trade mission participants will be responsible for the cost of their own flights, lodging, and most meals and other incidental expenses.

A trade mission fee will be assessed for each individual who attends the trade mission. This fee, which is a flat rate, covers the cost of some group meals, some group ground transportation, room reservations for briefings, trade mission participant journals, trade mission marketing collateral and networking receptions hosted by the State of Utah. Additionally, due to the unique nature of this particular trade mission, the participation fee will also include lodging and all group transportation in Israel.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is due no later than Monday, August 21, 2017 in order to secure a spot on the trade mission. The $500 deposit will be applied to the total participation fee amount. The remaining participation fee cost will be due September 5, 2017.

The participation fee for our Israel and Jordan trade mission will range from approximately $1,500 to $2,500 since this trade mission will include lodging and transportation in Israel. Lodging is not included in Jordan. Participants will be responsible for booking accommodations in Jordan.

Your final participation fee will be a flat rate based on what portions of the trade mission you elect to attend. Please note that the actual participation fee amount will depend on the total number of participants on the trade mission and the final costs of the various activities/services provided.

World Trade Center Utah makes every effort to limit this cost as much as possible for participants. We expect trade mission applicants may begin applying for STEP grant funding at the end of September. Companies may also choose to apply for WTC Utah’s Export Acceleration Grant to help cover the cost of the trade mission. As a reminder, grant funding is not guaranteed. For questions on the Utah Export Acceleration Grant, please contact Teren Taniuchi at

Flights and Accommodations

Flights are not included in the participation fee. Hotel is included in the cost of the participation fee for Israel, but not for Jordan. In the coming weeks, information regarding recommended flights and group rates and recommended hotels will be emailed to each participant. The average cost per night is $200 while international flights average between $1,700 to $2,200.
