STATE OF UTAH TRADE MISSION TO FRANCE

France, as the sixth largest economy in the world, is not only an important political ally with the U.S. but also an important economic partner. “On average, over $1 billion in commercial transactions, including sales of U.S. and French foreign affiliates, take place every day” (export.gov). In 2015, the U.S. exported more than $30 billion worth of goods to France. The top U.S. export commodities to France include transportation equipment, chemicals, computer & electronic products, petroleum & coal products, and machinery.

Many of the top U.S. exports to France such as chemicals, transportation equipment, and computer & electronics are exported from Utah. This data does NOT include any of the service (IT & tech) exports that are exported from Utah to France.

The southern region of France has established itself as one of Europe’s leading region for innovation in information technology, aerospace, cleantech, health & life sciences, flavors & fragrances, and tourism.
