Mr. Parry frequently consults with U.S. companies entering or expanding into foreign markets, bringing to their attention and advising them on legal issues that bear on their business plans and discussing with them ways to enter and operate in the foreign market that fit with the company’s goals and strategies and the relevant legal environment. Once a strategy has been agreed upon, Mr. Parry assists his clients in setting up the business structure necessary to effectuate the plans, including establishing a business presence in the foreign jurisdiction, as necessary, and negotiating and drafting inter- and intra-company agreements, such as licensing, distribution, services, management, marketing and joint venture agreements.
Mr. Parry lived and practiced law in Japan and speaks Japanese. His practice frequently involves matters in the Pacific Rim. He advises and represents numerous Japanese companies doing business in the United States and Europe. He also counsels and represents many U.S. companies doing business in Japan, advising them not only on legal but also cultural issues. He also represents Japanese clients involved in litigation in the U.S. and U.S. clients involved in litigation with Japanese companies. He represents clients throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Mr. Parry is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
